Job description
The Laboratory Assistant will work with scientists in product development on key projects for the R&D team.
Main responsibilities:
- Support key projects through the product development process
- Conduct performance and analysis evaluations of products
- Ability to perform laboratory techniques such as immunoassay technique using checkerboard analyses to find best-matched pairs of immuno-reagents
- Assess the accelerated and real stability of the reagents.
- Manufacture various R&D lots and prepare standards, and reagents needed to perform experiments in the lab
- Optimize antibody, conjugate, standards and any other reagents liquid ready to use format.
- Carry out calibrations of instrumentation and equipment used in the laboratory
- Complete literature searches as required
- Read peer-reviewed scientific literature regularly
- Maintain supplies inventory and order items when needed
- Read, understand and apply SOP / ISO / GLP protocols with regards to:
o Data generation
o Proper operation, standardization & maintenance of lab equipment
o Maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks
o Following Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements
Qualification and Education Requirements:
- BSc or MSc., in Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Science or in a relevant biomedical or life science subject or a related field or equivalent level attained through industrial experience.
- 2 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
- Strong oral communication skills to effectively provide feedback to project teams or immediate supervisor
- Strong written communication skills for accurate data entry and concise lab reports
- Results-oriented and self-motivating, seeking information from others to accomplish objectives
- Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change
- Timely execution of multiple project objectives within established timelines
- Desire to learn, apply, and enhance skill set while seeking new opportunities
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Proficient with common software applications, including MSOffice
Desirable skills
Experience in immunoassay procedures
Creativity and ingenuity in problem solving is desired

Salary: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
