We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Manufacturing Operations team where you will be working within clean, modern, air-conditioned laboratories providing quality checked reagents and other materials required for our genotyping processes and operations. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment and expected to accurately follow standard operating procedures including those associated with good laboratory practice and anti-contamination.
Duties will include:
- preparation and QC of materials required for the operations and general assistance on all projects undertaken by the Manufacturing Operations
- equipment maintenance and preparation of all required documentation to comply with a range of regulatory and QC requirements.
- When fully trained and competent, you will be responsible for the production of reagents from start to finish; including ordering the stock, receipt and preparation, organisation and scheduling, solution preparation (including meticulously accurate pipetting and weighing), quality checking, release and distribution.
You will be educated to a minimum of GCSE or equivalent in Maths, English and Science. Knowledge of molecular biology methods and their applications and DNA techniques would be an advantage as well as some manufacturing and production experience. However, the right attitude, a willingness to learn and enthusiasm will play an important part in selection.
This role would suit someone who enjoys routine and repetitive tasks that have structure. You will be organised and meticulous in your attention to detail, including a tireless desire to keep accurate records. You will also be able to meet immovable deadlines and have excellent communication skills. It is essential that you will be a team player and be able to work on your own for significant periods of time.
