Based at Alderley Park, Cheshire, the UKs largest single site life sciences campus, Blueberry operates with an experienced drug discovery and clinical development team. We have an exciting portfolio of pre-clinical and clinical-stage therapies for skin and nail conditions that are typically characterised by underlying infection and inflammation.
We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our pre-clinical team, working in our Alderley Park laboratory. Working closely with Senior and Principal Scientists, the Pharmaceutical Development Director, and the Chief Scientific Officer, the Laboratory Technician will provide technical support to help the laboratory function smoothly. This will involve preparation of reagents, setting up experiments for scientists to perform, and performing their own experiments under the guidance of Blueberry’s scientific team. The Laboratory Technician’s tasks will include carrying out stock checks and ordering of lab consumables. As Blueberry’s Laboratory Technician you will be proactive, eager to learn, communicative and a great teammate.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic research to support Blueberry Therapeutics’ cutting-edge research projects
- Work under the supervision of senior scientists to perform experiments:
- Carry out laboratory work according to established protocols
- Help develop new protocols as required
- Facilitate the work of our laboratory, including:
- Preparation of buffers, cleaning of glassware according to protocols, labelling tubes for experiments, preparation of dilutions and multi-well plates
- Order laboratory materials and ensure safe storage of sensitive materials/chemicals
- Maintain the laboratory
- You will also have learning opportunities that will strengthen your ability to support Blueberry’s research efforts
- Carry out work to relevant regulations such as SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Graduate
Salary: £21,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
