About the role:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will join a dynamic and successful team within Pharmaceutical Research Group and the Medical Science Cluster. You will assist with the preparation of materials and apparatus for research experiments and practical work, and demonstrate key skills and experiments to our researchers and students. You would also be required to keep stock checks, place orders, take care of deliveries and invoices as well as keep departmental records. You will be required to work such hours as are reasonably necessary to perform your duties and may involve occasional evening or weekend work.
Whilst a degree in life science is desirable, you will have A levels, or equivalent, in Chemistry and Biology. You would benefit from relevant previous experience and familiarity with the handling of chemicals and scientific equipment, and a good understanding of laboratory safety is essential.
