What will you do?
You will directly report to the Senior Scientist. You will perform laboratory duties in support of antibody manufacture and must display a basic understanding of underlying scientific theory for specific tasks and understand that they have a direct impact upon the manufacturing process. Specific duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Conduct the following tasks autonomously:
- Clean lab floors and working surfaces daily.
- Empty bins and dispose of laboratory waste in appropriately.
- Maintain adequate stock levels for individual work areas daily.
- Manufacture buffers for use in the manufacturing process according to SOPs.
- Manufacture of broth, agar, cell culture media, running the autoclave cell culture media according to SOPs.
- Perform routine maintenance and performance checking of designated laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate records either electronically or in a personal lab book as required.
- Effectively communicate with all relevant personnel both verbally and electronically to allow smooth running of the laboratory.
- Perform limited scientific testing such as (but not limited to): confirmation of DNA/Protein concentration and pH testing.
- Maintain accurate records in a personal lab book.
- Assist with continuous improvement within the microbiology department
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned.

Someone with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to take responsibiity for their own work . You like to working a fast-paced environment and enjoy working in a small team. You are good at prioritising tasks and working to a deadline.
Minimum job requirements
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and Sciences or at least 1 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think analytically and critically.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Willing to clean the lab at the end of the day
- Able to wear laboratory PPE.
- Authorised to work in the UK.
