Description
VolkerWessels UK is a leading multidisciplinary contractor that delivers innovative engineering solutions across the civil engineering and construction sectors including rail, highways, airport, marine, energy, water, and environmental infrastructure. they are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician apprentice.
Main Duties:
- To learn Field and Lab testing in all aspects of materials i.e. Concrete, Soils and Aggregates.
- To Assist Senior Techs in all aspects of Testing.
- Calibration of equipment.
- Transfer Specimen samples to External UKAS laboratories.
- Housekeeping of Laboratories on a daily basis.
- Learn to produce paperwork for all testing.
- Carry daily checks.
- Monitor Aggregate moisture contents.
GCSE or Level 2 equivalent including English and Maths at grades 4 or above.
Training to be provided
- The learner will be studying the Laboratory Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
- Day release to West Suffolk College.
- Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
You will be working full time with us prior to starting your apprenticeship in September 2023. Will need to have travel arrangements in place due to vacancy location. Random drugs and alcohol testing carried out. Along with CV, please give a covering letter why you wish to undertake a Lab Technician Apprenticeship within the construction sector.
