Job Summary
The Scientist II is expected to form part of the Laboratory team performing analysis of clinical samples on both automated and manual platforms, working to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.

STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: York, England [Onsite]
DEPARTMENT: Laboratory
SCHEDULE: Tuesday to Saturday; Days
ATTRIBUTES:
- BSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
- A minimum 12 months Laboratory experience required
- Background in practical and / or theoretical blood sciences is desirable.
- Appreciation for working in a regulatory environment (experience working to GCP is desirable)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analysis. Performing analysis on clinical trials samples to the required standards within the determined timeframes. Review, authorisation and reporting of results using the Laboratory Information Systems. Participation in all activities that seek to ensure compliance with GCP requirements. Participate in internal quality control including analysis of daily controls across all analytical platforms and producing monthly quality reports within the department.
- Quality. Participation in all activities that seek to ensure compliance with external accreditation bodies (e.g. CAP, NEQAS). Documentation and ownership of quality events within the ACM Quality Management Systems. Participation in internal and external quality and regulatory audits as required.
- Maintenance. Ensuring all relevant maintenance is performed and documented as per SOPs. Participate fully in the general housekeeping of the laboratory, including stock management and maintaining a clean, tidy and compliant working environment. Assist in instrument and method validation activities. Keeping abreast of developments and advising on departmental policies and strategy.

Pay: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
