VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a large HSCNI client based in Antrim to hire Laboratory Assistants to work within a Cellular & Molecular Pathology laboratory based in Antrim.
This is a full-time role, working 9.00am - 5.15pm Monday to Friday.
This role will initially be ongoing with long term extension and options to progress for the right candidates.
The post holder will be responsible for a wide range of duties and activities within the department from; Specimen reception, Specimen processing, maintenance, archive and to support Biomedical Scientists to deliver a quality service to our users.

Salary
£11.11 per hour + Holiday Pay + Pension + Discounted Benefits.
The Ideal Person
- 1 + years’ experience working within an integrated pathology service, offering Histopathology, Cytopathology, Molecular and Mortuary services, in a laboratory support role.
- Experience in a medical or healthcare related role / lab.
- Able to operate basic computer programme e.g. MS word, MS excel, email.
Responsibilities
- Progress a range of specimen types, use knowledge and experience to code specimens.
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Working within the departments HG3 room to aid in the preparation of diagnostic cytology samples under the supervision of BMS staff
- Record receipt of samples onto appropriate laboratory computer system.
- Perform routine tests/ procedures under the supervision of Biomedical scientists staff
