NRM, part of the Cawood Scientific Group, are the UK’s largest independent provider of agronomic and environmental waste analysis for land-based industries. We offer water, soil, manures, fertilisers and plant tissue analysis to farmers, growers and agronomists for improved farm productivity, as well as land-based environmental services including composted waste, anaerobic digestate, effluents and industrial renewables.
NRM are looking for an Analyst to join their General Analytical team on a full-time permanent basis, based in their Laboratory in Bracknell. The Job entails performing analysis on, but not limited to wet chemistry, physical chemistry and Combustion analysis.
Role And Responsibilities:
. Required to analyse samples and to provide accurate, precise, and quality data using the analytical techniques as described by Standard Operating Procedures within the specified time limits and adhering to all safety criteria.
· Completing allocated analytical work on time and to the required standards, working efficiently and effectively to minimise waste and time used, therefore maximising the efficiency and profitability of the laboratory.
· Monitoring the allocated work and interpret data generated and to alert management to any actual, or anticipated deviations from key objectives or timelines.
· Observing stock control of chemicals and consumables and to order or alert supervisor of inadequate stocks.
· Checking and validating, where necessary, all analytical work undertaken to ensure only the highest quality analytical data is presented for reporting.
· It is expected that the work and its interpretation will be carried out competently with a large degree of independence.
· Where applicable, work must be carried out to meet the current requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 as laid down by UKAS.
. There will be an opportunity to work with Titrators, Aquakem, LECO, Flash and Skalar combustion instruments
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
· Good laboratory skills and practices as well as food/feed chemistry and microbiology techniques
· Understanding of ISO, UKAS, audit procedures and methods.
· Must be able to work effectively and collaborate within own team and other sections.
· Must take initiative and have the ability to conduct hands-on work.
· Strong communication and influencing skills
· Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
· Highly organised and excellent time management skills.
