The A Side: A Day in The Life
The Label Relations Assistant will work directly with the Head of Label Relations and the UK Distributed Label family. They will provide a helpful link between Virgin Music LAS and it’s label partners to ensure that Virgin Music’s teams and labels are supported and their relationships are being maximised.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Responsibilities:
- Helping to manage the onboarding process of new labels including but not limited to:
- Introduction to key Virgin team members.
- Ensuring are completed.
- Ensuring Digital & Physical catalogue ingestion processes are completed
- Co-ordinating meetings between labels and internal teams & meetings between labels and Head of Label Relations
- Helping to manage release schedule updates between all departments and labels
- Transferring all external label assets to internal storage site
- General label admin – helping to answer general enquiries
- Uploading label releases to Radiomonitor, where applicable
- Collecting additional DSP pitch notes on time and distributing all necessary information internally
Person Specification
- Passionate about music, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Highly organised and reliable
- Past experience of the music industry and/or an appreciation of the processes involved in content production including an understanding of the role of metadata and release scheduling is preferable
- Enthusiasm for building and maintaining strong relationships across different teams and record labels
- Proven experience of working effectively and efficiently under pressure in a calm and organised manner
- Excellent track record of working to strict deadlines & maintaining a high standard of attention to detail
- Experience in using in house computer systems and packages including Word, Outlook and Excel
- Professional, proactive and flexible approach to work – ability to prioritise, multi-task & pre-empt problems before they occur
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally
- Team player and able to work on own initiative
- Ability to deal with situations sensitively & confidentially
- Able to demonstrate a tactful and diplomatic approach
