Forming part of the SYNLAB Group, Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff. Lextox provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings. SYNLAB in the UK is a trusted expert in clinical laboratory and medical diagnostic services.
Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Laboratory Analyst to join our Drug & Alcohol Laboratory team in Cardiff, on a full time and permanent basis. Applicants are expected to have ISO17025 knowledge and hold previous laboratory experience.
Hours: 40hrs a week / Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering training for all processes to laboratory staff and to perform ongoing competency checks where appropriate.
- Ensure that Lextox Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times.
- Responsible for keeping the sample status folder up to date and keeping weekly sections spreadsheet up to date.
- To be responsible for reporting laboratory non-conformances or non-standards occurrences.
- To process and if necessary, approve raw data sample batches on the LC-MS/MS or GC-MS/MS instruments ready for approval using the mass lynx software.
- To be the point of contact for any queries from laboratory team or another department and deal with them in an efficient and timely manner.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Qualified at a Degree level – Biomedical Sciences or a relevant Science degree.
- Fully trained in all laboratory processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- A strong focus on service and quality with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Previous laboratory experience.
Desirable:
- At least 6 months experience of being fully signed off.
- Authorised trainer in processing analytical results.
