The Laboratory Supervisor has responsibility for day-to-day operations within the laboratory in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations

ATTRIBUTES
- Bsc (or equivalaent0 or higher in a relevant scientific subject
- Minimum 5 years experience within in a laboratory environment
- Minimum of 2 years experience supervising a team externally or 1 year experience coaching/mentoring a team internally

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operational Support. Ensure the smooth running of the laboratory, working with departmental management to ensure adherence to agreed schedules and maximising efficiency with respect to equipment and personnel. Oversee the general housekeeping of the laboratory, including procurement, stock check and maintenance of a clean and tidy working environment.
- Technical Support. Support the laboratory teams to troubleshoot assays and analytical systems. Act as Study Manager on assay validation studies ensuring deliverables meet timeframes and regulatory/ technical requirements. Work closely with the Senior Technical Specialist on method development studies. Perform method development, validation and sample analysis where required. Ownership and completion of self and teams documents in the Quality Management System (Quality Issues, CAPA, deviations, departures, change controls) as appropriate and within the required timeframes.
- Leadership. Responsible for the day to day management of laboratory personnel including definition of role and responsibilities, training, development and performance management. Support the effective performance of the team and individuals to ensure scheduled operational activities are completed on each given day
