Our client is in urgent need of a Senior Laboratory Technician (Geotechnical) to provide supervision, management and support to a team of technicians, to ensure the effective running and maintenance of the practical areas of the Learning Centre, (laboratories and teaching rooms).
You will be involved in a wide range of supporting activities across several of our clients projects and programmes, including but not limited to:
- Coordinating all internal & external testing workload with other team members, according to established methods and reporting results to internal customers
- Oversight of all laboratory activities and delegate appropriate tasks to your team.
- The role includes maintaining and providing training, practical assistance and advice in the use of common laboratory equipment.
- Planning and allocating work and ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure the efficient day to day running of the practical component of courses at the Centre, meeting the demands of a busy front-facing service.
- Preparing standards for calibration and quality checks Undertaking analysis and reporting results within required timeframes Assisting in instrument and method validation
- Supervise and train technicians within the team to enable them to support the practical and technical aspects of the courses at the Centre.
- Provide technical, health and safety advice where appropriate to other members of staff.
Qualifications
You can make your mark as a Senior Laboratory Technician if you have:
- Strong experience & knowledge across science disciplines.
- Excellent knowledge of geotechnical, as well as prior experience within a similar Lab Tech or Science Tech role.
- Minimum 3 years of working in laboratory environment.
- A working understanding of safety management practices
- Microsoft Office – Word and Excel (proficient in using)

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
