Here at Avantor, we are seeking a Laboratory Technician to complete supportive tasks in a modern laboratory environment. This is a fantastic role for someone looking for a change of career! Full training will be provided.

This is a full-time permanent position, based at our customer site in Oxford, on the Oxford Science Park, OX4 4HG.

Working hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-16:00

What we’re looking for

• Education: Secondary school or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a customer-facing environment is highly desirable. This can be in hospitality, retail, or general warehousing
• Experience working in a laboratory environment and Knowledge of SHE requirements is desirable but not essential
• Collaboration Tool: Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Stock management – ensuring lab consumables are maintained, preventing disruption to science
• Decontamination of incubators, water baths, cell counter, class II cabinets, water purification units, and other equipment relevant to the site
• Glassware and plastics collection, washing, and sterilisation services for the scientists to use within the laboratories
• Managing pipette inventory and organisation of calibration schedules
• Laboratory housekeeping – tidying stock rooms, cleaning benches
