Autoneum Heckmondwike have a fantastic opportunity for a Lab technician to join the Quality team.

Working in a small team, on shift rotation, flexibility will be required for the role to ensure Laboratory Technicians’ are operating in alignment with Production team.

· Responsible for running the calibration system within the company.

· Responsible for meeting quality, cost and timing targets within the role.

36.5 hpw (flexibility for the role is required) 2 rotating shifts:

Shift 1 AM: Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm; Friday 6:00am – 1:00pm; 30 minutes unpaid lunch break between Monday – Friday.

Shift 2 PM: Monday – Thursday 2:00pm – 10:00pm; Friday 1:00pm – 8:00pm; 30 minutes unpaid lunch break between Monday – Friday.

Core Responsibilities

· To work within the requirements of IATF 16949 and associated laboratory procedures.

· To ensure all material tests are carried out using the correct method.

· To ensure all tests are fully documented.

· To ensure all customer required tests are carried out within the required time period.

· To review test data and manage testing programme status.

· To monitor product/process performance trends.

· Alert manufacturing locations of adverse trends in recorded results.

· Maintain a safe working environment through systematic and methodical approach to applied testing methods.

· To issue reports of completed tests to support analysis as required.

· To assist in the analysis following any identified failures.

· To ensure the calibration system is respected and relevant machines/fixtures are calibrated within the calibration system.

· To report any item close to/past calibration due timing.

· To report any laboratory materials nearing Use by Date to the Senior Quality Engineer.

· To support the operation of the laboratory in meeting the customer and business requirements as necessary.

· Material testing as defined by the DEC, COE and customer specifications against defined schedule/timeline.

· Reporting and documentation of test activities completed against defined schedule/timeline.

· Calibration of machines, tools and other associated equipment in line with programme requirements.

· Assist in the maintaining and improvement of the quality system – no major non-conformances identified during audit programme.

· Reporting to management regarding the status and progress of projects as required through review and appraisal activity.

· Support of the Quality department and other functions as necessary

· Assistance in root cause identification and CI activities.

Material testing (textile)

Previous Laboratory experience

Experience in customer and supplier visits/contacts (Desirable)

Knowledge and experience of using SAP (Desirable)

Educational achievements and knowledge

Minimum of 5 GCSE between A – C (including English and Maths) or equivalent qualification.

Educated to HNC/diploma level or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an operational role.
