Job description
Participate in the receipt, recording and storage of specimens, including data input to laboratory computer. Participate in the preparation, cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment and working areas. Participate in the preparation of samples for virology testing. Participate with the preparation of slides for microscopic examination.
Prepare sample-taking consumables for dispatch to GP surgeries. Participate in the preparation of reagents for routine laboratory use. File and retrieve records and slides. Participate in general office activities, ie photocopying, scanning documents.
Input and retrieve data from departmental and other IT systems. Deal with telephone enquiries to the department. Enter results from clinical interventions outside of the area. Contact individuals and agencies within and external to NBT to seek information necessary for service provision.
