Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an Apprentice DevOps Engineer with Enzen who are based in Solihull.
Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Cloud Centre of Excellence (CoE) as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on Cloud Platforms and DevOps. You will play a customer-facing role, working with customer Product Owners, to deliver solutions through DevOps and Agile methodologies. Ultimately, these solutions will help our customers transform their business through Cloud, to deliver regulatory targets in support of the energy transition.
The opportunity will facilitate real world experience of DevOps tools and technologies, aligned with industry best practices, as well as experience of delivering through Agile methodologies.
While we remain technology and product agnostic, customer engagements are likely to be within a Microsoft Azure environment, with some possibility of AWS exposure.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Contribute to delivery of one or more Cloud Engineering / DevOps technical workstreams in customer facing engagement.
- Contribution to the creation of lab environments for e.g. customer demos and to bids and proposals, through e.g. written text.
- Contribute to the creation of repeatable solutions and IP.
Qualifications:
5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Desired skills & personal qualities:
- Aptitude and interest in Cloud Platforms & Engineering (including DevOps); Cloud Apps & Cloud Native Engineering.
- Any existing relevant hands-on technical experience, whether formal or informal across e.g. DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, or related tools
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills to work as part of a customer-facing delivery engagement and within an internal team. Good written skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, team player, who enjoys an active, customer-facing role.
- Knowledge and interest in the Energy & Utilities sector.
Future prospects:
The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.
Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 DevOps Engineer, with training in how to:
- Write scripts and coding to meet your business’ needs.
- Develop and deploy software and cloud infrastructure.
- Build and operate a Continuous Integration (CI) capability.
- Implement and improve release automation and orchestration.
- Use security tools and techniques for software development.
- Evolve and define IT architecture.
- Follow test driven development and ensure appropriate coverage.
