Location and flexible working: This role could be based in either our London, Wythall or Edinburgh office with the option to work from home during the week. We recognise the benefits of flexible working and will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Leadership Development Consultant to join our Talent, Development and Inclusion team.

The role
As a member of the Talent, Development and Inclusion function (TD&I), reporting to the Head of Learning & Leadership, you’ll make a significant contribution to the delivery of our learning strategy and you will help us to build the skills and capabilities that we need for the future. You will help colleagues at all levels to develop personally and professionally and will play a key role in making Phoenix Group the best place that any of us have ever worked.
The purpose of the role is create and deliver the Leadership Development agenda for Phoenix, in line with business needs. The role involves developing a leadership development curriculum, aligned to our Leadership Capabilities in order to prepare our high potential employees for future growth. The curriculum will include core leadership programmes (from entry level to Senior) along with other network and ad-hoc development programmes to develop our leadership capability.
The job holder will be the ‘go to’ person for Leadership expertise in Phoenix. They will build relationships with best practice external suppliers and institutions (Business Schools) to ensure that we have a reputation for outstanding leadership development and this is also an asset for employee retention. They will be responsible for ensuring that our leadership development is fully aligned with our Inclusion and Diversity strategy.
- Define and deliver the Phoenix approach to Leadership Development including the framework for our programmes e.g. use of internal/external speakers, allocation of budgets, timescales, commitment to Inclusion and Diversity, alignment with Leadership Attributes.
- Deliver the design and development of the Phoenix Leadership curriculum (leadership ladder), with personal responsibility for the executive programme and delegated responsibility through our external supplier Hemsley Fraser at other levels. Also responsible for stakeholder engagement (line managers) to ensure that the development is transferred and embedded.
- Solid foundation in the development, design and implementation of leadership capabilities and solutions.
- Identifies leadership capability gaps and implements approaches to build strength at all levels and deliver the strategic capability plan.
