Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy team at our Prego kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen is clean, tidy, safe, and hygienic at all times, while assisting kitchen staff to ensure that service runs smoothly.
Ensuring basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible, including but not limited to:
·Food preparation areas, equipment, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans
·Bins checked and cleaned regularly
·Structure of the kitchen (walls/doors/floors/skirting/pipes)
·Maintaining dishwasher
·Large equipment including ovens/blast chiller/walk in cold store/fridges/freezers
·Receiving, checking and organizing goods and deliveries whilst keeping control and maintaining
·Organisation and stock rotation in food store areas, chemical storage cupboard and disposable storage
·Completing all relevant HACCP, food hygiene, delivery, temperature and cleaning logs as legally required and ensuring it is signed off by a chef in charge daily
·Adhere to all aspects of Fire, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and other policies
·Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager
·Willing to work flexible hours as regular weekend, bank holiday and some evening work is required
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to converse with people at all levels in a professional and polite manner and be able to work efficiently as part of a team.
Previous kitchen porter experience is ideal but not essential
