Bank Medical Secretary | Winfield Hospital | Bank Contract - Ad Hoc Hours
Are you a secretary looking to expand your knowledge? Or an administrator looking for a new challenge? We are a busy and friendly team looking for an experienced secretary/administrator with sound computer, audio typing and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Working in a team based secretarial service providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service
- Act as the first point of contact for/on behalf of the consultants and deal effectively with all queries from GPs, patients and other departments
- Manage clinical dictations as required
- Prioritise your own workload to meet the demands of the service
- You will benefit from a varied surgical caseload which will broaden your skills and experience as well as support and training opportunities
The successful candidate will also have the following
- Previous secretarial/administration experience
- Previous audio typing experience – must be able to type 20 letters per day
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Previous medical secretarial experience or knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage

This role is based at Winfield Hospital, which is a leading private hospital on the outskirts of Gloucester. We have three fully equipped, laminar flow theatres, with a six-bedded recovery, a dedicated and JAG accredited endoscopy unit, and ten outpatient consulting rooms with associated examination and treatment facilities. Other outpatient facilities include physiotherapy, pharmacy, audiology, radiology, ultrasound, MRI and CT.
