Job description

We are looking for diligent Kitchen Porter to join our team here in Edinburgh. You will have the highest attention to detail and focus on cleanliness and organisation. Assisting our kitchen teams and playing a key role in helping the chefs deliver on time, every time.

As a Kitchen Porter in our business, your responsibilities will include…

  • Use of dishwasher for cleaning of all cooking equipment, including pots, pans and other utensils.
  • Cleaning of all crockery and cutlery.
  • Cleaning of all kitchen areas; storage areas, outside areas and food preparation areas.
  • Clean of the kitchen fully on a nightly basis, leaving it sparkling for the next day.
  • Maintaining the safety, speed and cleanliness of pot wash area at all times.
  • Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised.
  • Assisting with deliveries and rotation of stock.
  • Storing all crockery, cutlery, equipment accurately and safely.

· Ensuring the safe removal, segregation and storage of all recycling materials

  • Some minor food preparation duties.
  • All other duties as an when required by Head Chef/Kitchen Manager on Duty

An ideal Kitchen Porter will…

  • Basic English preferred.
  • A fast learner with interest in kitchen work.
  • Willing to take direction and work unsupervised when required.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, and stand for a length of time.
  • Interest in Health & Safety and abiding by rules.
  • Patience and good listening skills.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Be able to carry and lift heavy objects safely, and comfortably.
