About Us
Punto Italian Kitchen is a young casual dining venue situated in the Heart of Heaton with the goal of bringing people together in an experience of Italian Hospitality. We make our own products, from handmade fresh pasta and hand-stretched wood-fired 72 hour-aged sourdough pizza, right through to gelato and sorbetto, and other delicious modern and classic Italian Dishes.
Our approach to hospitality is a little different, we value uniqueness and individuality while maintaining brand standards and ultimately understand that our industry needs to change for the better; we aim to lead this change by example.
The Role - Kitchen Porter
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will provide assistance to the kitchen team and operate the pass through wash system.
Specific responsibilities will include although will not be limited to:
- Assist with kitchen cleaning
- Keep the dish washing area clear
- Wash, dry and replace flatware, cookware and other dishes in a timely manner
- Provide support for the kitchen team - this may include some basic food preparation
- Follow any reasonable requests given by the management team
Requirements - Kitchen Porter
- Show a strong desire to work as part of a team with a common goal
- Passionate about good quality food and taking pride in what we do as a team
- High standards for hygiene and cleanliness
- A keen eye for attention to detail
- Desire to learn - most of our Kitchen Porters have gone on to train as commis chefs

You will be employed on a permanent contract working a minimum of 16 hours per week. Due to the nature of the industry, evening and weekend working will be required and over bank holidays, although we endeavour to ensure all team members have the opportunity to have at least one weekend off per month.
