The Ebrington Hotel is now seeking to recruit a Kitchen Porter for their premises, Ebrington Square, Derry-Londonderry:
Kitchen Porter – Job Details
Contract: Full Time Permanent
Start date: TBC
Salary: Competitive
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of food as needed
- Receive and store food deliveries, rotate stock, and maintain proper storage conditions
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping and peeling vegetables or preparing sauces
- Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are clean and tidy at all times
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols and procedures
- Assist with the general cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team

Essential Criteria
- Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a similar role is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks
- Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene standards
- Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
Desirable Criteria
- Background in a busy hotel environment
