Beverley House is a 24-bedded rehabilitation hospital for women over the age of 18, situated in the heart of the community in Birmingham.
Patients admitted to Beverley House may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act with a primary diagnosis of mental illness and personality disorder with complex needs
You will be helping the chef to prepare food, cooking lunch and dinner, you will also help the chef to menu plan in advance. You will be helping to serve food to our patients and staff. Ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s catering policies, guidelines, and statutory regulations.
You will also support the Chef in stock ordering and rotation is organised in an efficient and cost-effective manner and taking account of dietary and nutritional requirements within the unit. At times you will be rotated to work weekends with the Chef.
Knowledge & Skills:
NVQ level 1 or equivalent or Qualified By Experience in Catering together with a basic qualification in food hygiene.
Kitchen Assistant Duties:
- Adhering to all kitchen practices
- Overseeing all washing up areas
- Supporting chefs with food preparation
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Hands on approach to all areas of cleanliness
Experience within a professional kitchen environment preferred.
