Kitchen Assistant ( £10.62 per hour )
Lillibet Healthcare is looking for an experienced Kitchen assistant to work on a job share basis in our residential care home 10 am - 3 pm, working alternate weekends. Hours may be subject to change due to the needs of the residents and the business, Contract of 17.5 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities
- To prepare and cook a balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment.
- To maintain varied menus.
- To be aware of the residents’ needs and dietary preferences.
- To ensure that the kitchen is left in a clean and hygienic state.
- To assess stock levels and accurately order provisions.
Job Type: Part-time. Permanent
Excellent rates of pay £10.62 per hour and 28 days’ annual leave (pro rota) *
Skills/Experience Required:
- Previous experience of working in a busy commercial kitchen is desirable (schools, restaurants, residential homes) but not essential.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- A kind, compassionate, caring nature is essential and someone who is passionate about helping and working with people.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong command of the English language
- Is able to work on their own initiative, but also in a team environment
