Korea Foods Company is a family-owned importer, distributor, and retailer of Korean and other Asian food. We are the largest importer of Korean food in Europe, distribute to 1200 wholesale customers, including the major multiples, and operate 14 retail shops in the UK.

We pride ourselves on working hard, quickly, and we are currently undertaking new expansion plans that will drive the company’s capabilities further.

Working patterns: Monday to Friday 10:00-18:00/20:00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions from Head Chef and Shop Manager.
  • Understand and follow all SOP’s for cooking equipment.
  • Understand the quality attributes (smell, taste, texture, colour, particulate size, etc.) of the food.
  • Check for the quality of ingredients handled and report possible problems immediately to the Head Chef and Shop Manager.
  • Duties include but are not limited to: preparing ingredients, washing all utensils, pots, and any equipment used in the kitchen and assisting Head Chef when required.
  • Responsible for making sure all food meet HACCP expectations.
  • Comply with rules and regulations in Korea Foods; Employee Handbook, health and safety manual.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Any other reasonable management instruction or request.

Person Specification:

  • Additional language skills of Korea and/or Mandarin would be advantageous.
  • A can-do professional and positive attitude.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and fully committed to providing excellent service to our customers at all times.
  • To be aware, adhere to and understand Food Hygiene regulations, personal safety procedures including the handling and use of knives and machinery. Basic Hygiene Level 2 qualification would be beneficial.
  • Accurately complete any paperwork associated with duties.
  • Establish good working relationships with other team members.
  • To work on own initiative with accuracy and commitment, coaching and training others as required.
  • To follow, any reasonable instruction given by Head Chef or management.
  • Organised with the ability to multi-task and good attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Salary: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
