Mixture of early, late and weekend shifts
Earliest start 06:00am and latest finish 21:30pm
Live in accommodation is available on-site at a cost of up to £130 deducted monthly, which acts as a contribution towards living costs. This price remains unmatched in the surrounding area by some margin and covers accommodation in your own private quarters, all general bills & meals.

This is a beautiful and unique John Lewis Partnership owned hotel, set in 130 acres by the River Thames in Cookham, Berkshire. It offers both character and charm to our guests.
The guests can stay in one of 5 beautiful houses on the site, each maintaining the period look of it’s time with access to the picturesque grounds including a private stretch of river, water gardens, a pool and sports facilities. The main building Lullebrook Manor and it’s grounds are thought to have been the inspiration for the classic novel The Wind in The Willows bringing history along with relaxation.
Relaxation can be further achieved with a visit to our Serenity Spa, offering beauty treatments and massages or afternoon tea on the terrace, a drink in the bar or a meal overlooking the river. For any golfers, there is also our Partnership owned golf course Winter Hill down the road.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll be assisting on basic food preparation for the chefs and ensuring that the kitchen remains efficient and profitable through being responsible for food deliveries, stock rotation, completion of cleaning schedules and temperature checks. You’ll be supporting the high quality customer service we offer to our guests and maintaining the high standards associated with the hotel by demonstrating and complying with hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
The role will offer you opportunities to display your talent and provide you with development opportunities and the progression routes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Do you have a real love of food and would like to join our friendly catering team working as Kitchen Assistant at our Hotel?
You'll be involved with the preparation of food, managing stock and wastage.
This is a role where you will receive ongoing training and there is scope to progress throughout the kitchen.
Required essential experience skills and qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Can do attitude showing flexibility to work in the department
Desirable experience skills and qualifications:
- Previous commercial kitchen experience including basic preparation of food items
- Able to be flexible in work approach and skill training
- Food Safety Level 2
