Job description
Monday to Friday 10.30 - 2.30 (times can be varied slightly if it works better for the successful candidate) Term time only position.
Purpose of the job: To prepare food for children following children’s individual requirements, to wash pots and clean the kitchen and reception areas and fill out risk assessments. To stock take throughout the week to ensure there is enough food required for the week. To maintain cleanliness throughout the nursery including cloakrooms and toilets. To include children when preparing their meals and snacks, talking about healthy foods. This role doesn't include any cooking of meals, snack/tea preparation only.
Main duties:
(a) Providing healthy and child-friendly meals and snacks that adequately match the appetites and needs of all children, following the nursery menu.
(b) Providing a consistent high standard of professionalism, teamwork and hospitality for all staff and children
(c) Food preparation that includes baking, preparing snacks and chopping fruit and vegetables
(d) Serve food at meal times
(e) Serving/preparing special needs and requests;
(f) Maintaining a clean kitchen and work area
(g) Washing dishes, pots and pans
(h) Taking stock
(i) Completing risk assessments correctly each day
(j To ensure the kitchen is well organized including the fridge, cupboards, sides and shelving.
(k) To be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety, fire precautions, dropping off and collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of the setting.
(l) To hoover and tidy the cloakroom area when required.
(m) To keep the staff toilets clean to a high standard of cleanliness.
(n) Any other duties agreed.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: £7.80-£10.24 per hour
