Altro have an exciting opportunity for a Value Added Services & Fabrication Manager to join our Manufacturing team here in Letchworth Garden City.
In this role you will be responsible for leading and developing the enhanced services we offer to customers. This currently includes kit cutting and logo creation for transport flooring products and in the future will include the development and launch of our in-house Walls fabrication service. You will be accountable for the operational performance of the team, introducing new services and ensuring compliance with Quality and Safety standards.
This is a strategically important growth area for the business and, as such, this role reports to the Operations and Technical Director.

This is a permanent role with a 37.5 hour week worked Monday to Friday.
Due to the nature of the role it is mainly site based although there is the possibility of some hybrid working.

Who are we looking for?
We need someone with a proven track record at a senior level, in the leadership of manufacturing, shift based, multi-site operations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with manufacturing, commercial, technical and supply chain teams in the UK and also at our sites in Germany and North America.
Someone with experience in the manufacture of modular builds would be advantageous, as would someone with experience of working to automotive or rail industry standards.
The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of an ERP system, CAD, Microsoft Applications. A proactive and positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
Experience working in ISO9001 and ISO14001 environments is essential, and ISO16949 or ISO22163 desirable, as is a degree or HND in a relevant subject, transport management, business management, engineering, operations management, or suitable relevant experience and demonstrated appropriate level of acumen. Qualified Six-Sigma Black Belt would also be great.
