About the opportunity
Stoneswood Precision Components is currently recruiting for a Key Account Manager based at our bespoke machining facility in Dukinfield. As a Key Account Manager, you will be an integral part of the team ensuring processes run smoothly from initial customer enquiry through to final delivery.
A key part of the role is to engage in proactive communication with key customers to provide updates on their specific project throughout its lifecycle. This will entail liaising with the different departments within the business for example; engineering, operations and stores etcetera, as necessary to ensure accurate information is always available.
You will be accountable for ensuring accurate 3-way data between the customer’s systems, our ERP system and internal reports/trackers.
You will often be the first point of contact for customers or suppliers either by telephone or face to face, and so a friendly, approachable demeanour is a must.
Key tasks will include:
· Initial point of contact for key customers
· Regular orderbook updates
· Proactive communication
· Handle queries and escalations
· Processing new sales enquiries and loading on to the system
· Running and updating internal and external key performance indicators
· Updating trackers, project plans and customer reports as necessary
· Raising purchase orders and processing invoices
· Coordinating different departments to ensure timely answers to any quality queries raised by customers
· Expediting parts through all production processes both internally and externally.
· Management of the relevant supply chain (sub contracted processes such as treatments or testing)
· In addition to the above tasks there will also be a degree of flexibility required to support general administrative duties on a had hoc basis.
Requirements
Essential skills:
· Strong IT skills – including Excel and SAP (or similar ERP) experience
· Previous experience in an office environment
· Excellent attention to detail
· Customer focussed attitude
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to work closely as a part of a team and individually as necessary
· Strong time management
· Positive friendly attitude
· Flexible approach in supporting the needs of the business
Desired skills and qualities:
· Experience working within an aerospace / engineering environment
· SAP experience
