- Develop relationships with key specifiers & partners and be accountable for developing those relationships to ensure Specifications include reference to BRE products
- To add value to our customer relationships through adding technical and commercial insight regarding the value of BRE products at the Specification stage in Construction projects
- To drive business development by engaging new and existing partners at the Specification stage
- To ensure the handoff process between Specification, account management/project management and delivery is smooth to ensure customers are delighted
- To identify (through stakeholder mapping) targets against which progress can be measured, working closely with the Corporate Affairs, Sales, Marketing and Operational teams
- To develop, with Product, Marketing and Sales teams, a ‘Challenger’ led approach to Specification at BRE and input into the development of collateral to improve conversion rate of Specification sales
- To anticipate and articulate any service or relationship issues and collaborate with relevant teams to mitigate these
- To engage in the design and planning processes for BRE’s products and services
How will success be measured?
- Quantity and quality of Specifications and delivery against agreed plan and KPIs
- Value-based and commercial outcomes from strategic customer and industry body relationships which have a direct impact on business performance
- A clear strategy for developing our national and international Specification approach for Construction and Infrastructure projects
- A clear methodology of converting Specification success into revenue
What experience and skill does the role need?
- Insight and understanding of Construction & Infrastructure markets at a national and international level
- Experience of building, managing, and sustaining strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, particularly where they have differing requirements, demands and measures of success
- Collaborative approach working with and across all relevant internal BRE teams (Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations & Finance) and comfortable working in a dynamic team environment
- Full support of, and engagement with, the continuous improvement of business process and business rules
- Consistent, thorough, and accurate use of the CRM to ensure all customer conversations are documented, BRE sales & operations process is followed and that there is full visibility of activity for the wider BRE teams in support
- High level of influencing/diplomacy skills and the ability to balance competing interests and manage multiple stakeholders with complex and competing objectives
- Ability to co-ordinate and support commercial negotiations with multiple stakeholders with other colleagues in BRE following established pricing processes
- Technical knowledge of BRE’s products and services and ability to personify our expertise in building science
- Commercially driven thinker who thrives in context of ambiguity and cuts through to focus on long term effective outcomes
- Excellent organiser and responsive, with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and to conflicting demands
- Gravitas to represent BRE with senior external parties which include Government and industry experts
