We are recruiting for an exciting Key Account Manager opportunity within our Off Trade Major Multiples - Tesco / Booker Group team.
The Key Account Manager (KAM) role is a foundation account management role within the Grocery channel. The purpose of the role is to drive sustainable growth of the Asahi UK portfolio across Tesco / Booker group, through supporting the Tesco Commercial Leads in the delivery of the ledger strategy and customer joint business plans as well as full P&L responsibility for several key accounts supplied or affiliated with the Tesco / Booker group.
As Key Account Manager you will be accountable for strategic convenience customers, support on implementing the wider Tesco / Booker group strategy, ownership of part of the portfolio and general administration responsibilities.
Key accountabilities
The KAM is responsible for the following key outputs and accountabilities:
- Supporting the Commercial Leads to develop, plan and implement channel strategies that are aligned to core business objectives and in-line with brand guidelines
- Own & lead the Tesco / Booker group forecourt strategy with implementation of fit for purpose range and space
- Develop and Lead on Rapid delivery strategy and execution across the customer group
- Build strong cross functional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of our plans
- Progress the Craft and Ale agenda across Tesco. Driving innovation and sales, delivering industry best in class plans whilst ensuring forecast accuracy.
- Monitor & record customer instore & online compliance & availability
- Manage Trade Investment in line with commercial plans.
- Proactive review and management of internal pricing process & customer promotional submissions
- Management of invoicing, budget accruals and monitoring aged debt
- Monitoring and reporting Competitor activity, providing insight support for team.
- Tailoring and maintenance of account tools including EPOS Trackers & weekly performance reporting.
- Seek new business & portfolio building opportunities both within the existing account base & with prospective retail customers.
- Have the ability to take on projects or develop new initiatives as well as deliver on the day job.
Experience required
- Sales experience in an FMCG business.
- Experience working with premium brands, protecting brand equity and delivering.
- A track record of building collaborative customer relationships.
- Structured selling skills combined with strong drive and energy.
- Strong persuasive, negotiation and presentation capabilities.
- Good commercial understanding, strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Outstanding communicator, able to work with individuals across all levels & functions.
- Coordinate and deliver brand activations, improving instore compliance and visibility.
- Ability to take the initiative, explore and deliver new business opportunities.
- Capable of maintaining key account management tools including performance reports and budget management.
