
Key Account Manager – Direct Sales Uxbridge, England
Job description
Canon UK are looking for a Key Account Manager who will develop, maintain and implement account plans for specified new business accounts to include political mapping, multi-level engagement & milestones using your previous skills and experience.
Focus will be on selling hardware and solutions in Canon’s business technology proposition
As a Key Account Manager, you would be responsible for uncovering opportunities within a defined list of mid-market customers, with order size dependent on the solution sold. The key to this role is building Canon’s share of wallet and acting as conduit for our many other solutions and services across the business, either directly or by collaborating with stakeholders across Canon UK’s Business Units.

- Pay – base up to £44,000 plus circa £52,000 commission + Company Car / Car Allowance

What we ask
- Manage Accounts profitably – with full account P&L responsibility
- Manage the internal resources needed to enable successful business development strategies within specified user accounts
- Develop & Maintain a thorough sector understanding to enable successful business development strategies within specified accounts
- Review progress with the Business Services Sector Manager regularly
- Engage accounts at a senior (board) level
- Identify potential and prioritise accounts to deliver short-, mid- and long-term business opportunities
- Have a clear understanding of the specific needs of individual key accounts
- Ensure records are maintained (including a calendar) of account buying processes, policies & buying cycles
- Project manage and lead bids & tender processes within specified accounts.
- Understanding customer requirements
- Ensure that existing contracts are managed to the optimum and up selling opportunities are realised.
- Forecast revenue, GM, solutions and units for forthcoming month, 2 months and 3 months
You will need
As the Key Account Manager, you will possess the following skills and expertise
- We assume you are already a competent solution salesperson, seeking your next challenge and have proven experience in selling technical solutions to businesses to secure new business.
- You will need to be an excellent communicator, have a passion for selling and a proven track record in excelling in your sales. Excellent communicator, relationship builder and a strategic thinker, you will have the ability to work on your own and as part of a successful sales team.
- Experience at winning and nurturing key B2B accounts in a technical solution capacity. You will use the sales tool resources available to you including social media.
- Training will be given on Canon’s products and software.
- Education level – a degree is useful, but experience is equally valuable
