Full Stack Developer

Flexible - Hybrid/Homeworker

Permanent, Full Time

XPS Pension Group is an award- winning Pension Consultancy with over 1500 staff in 18 office locations across the UK and our business continues to experience rapid growth.

This is a very exciting time for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our established, friendly and close knit IT team within one of our vibrant offices with flexible, hybrid working. XPS IT provides IT services to all XPS offices located across the UK and Ireland. We have an in-house Service Desk Team providing 1st line and infrastructure monitoring, an in-house IT Security Team monitoring the security of the network and servers and a primary and secondary data centre which uses Hyper-V servers.

The Full Stack Developer role:

Our role will suit an experienced Software Engineer who is comfortable working at speed as part of a small inhouse development team, working across all application tiers - front end, business logic/services and database layers

The successful candidate will have:

  • The ability to operate as part of an Agile scrum, working at speed on delivering incremental value.
  • The ability to wear multiple hats beyond writing code, e,g, peer testing, configuring Azure.
  • Complete understanding of automated processes for building testing, documenting, and deploying web application at scale.
  • A strong focus on team-fit; speed and quality of developed code; the level of test automation that can be delivered and security quality (OWASP adoption).

Your Experience:

  • Whilst not a pre-requisite, knowledge and experience of pension administration system design, function and data requirements would be advantageous.

Your Skills:

  • Front-end technology. Familiarity with a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap and Vue.js. Ubuntu CSM experience beneficial
  • Development Languages. Server-side programming with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies – ASP.NET, C#, and .NET Core.
  • Knowledge of DBMS technology essential with an emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework Core. Knowledge of caching mechanisms would be beneficial.
  • Basic design ability. Knowledge of designing UI /UX.
  • Exposure to building and deploying Microsoft Azure Web App and services. Familiarity with RabbitMQ an advantage.
