Job description

Duties:

As a valued member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing essential care to our furry friends. Duties include:

  • Cleaning kennels, cattery pens, and communal areas to ensure that our cats and dogs are living in clean, comfortable, and healthy environments.
  • Ensuring that cats and dogs in our care are happy and healthy by providing them with the attention and enrichment they need.
  • Completing general housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and dishes, to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assisting with various supervised tasks, as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about animals and has the following qualities:

  • Enjoys being outside and is comfortable working with animals of all sizes and breeds.
  • Has own transport and is able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and weekday shifts.
  • Is confident in animal handling/interaction and has animal experience, though it's not required.
  • Is able to follow instructions and work well in a small team.
  • Has a strong attention to detail and is willing to learn.

Before applying, please keep in mind:

  • We're open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, seven days a week, so you must be available during these times.
  • Our location is not accessible via public transport, so having your own transport is essential.
  • This is a physically demanding job, so you must be able to perform duties such as lifting and carrying.
  • The position starts as a part-time job, with the possibility of building to a full-time job by the summer.
  • A half-day trial shift is required prior to the job offer.
  • Direct interaction with cats and dogs is essential, so confidence in animal handling is a must.
