We help organisations figure out why their website is needed, who it should communicate with, work with them to develop a design and then build the website which will grow over time as their aims and audiences change.

We are looking to expand our hard-working, talented team with the addition of a Junior Web Developer who will work in our production team, helping to improve and maintain our existing websites.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making great websites and has a strong eye for detail. They must have some previous experience in web development and interest in further developing their skills.
Job Description
The Junior Web Developer will work in the production team, with a few main responsibilities. They will be mentored by our senior web developers who will help them grow their skills and integrate into the team.
They will be tasked with making changes to existing client websites including CSS style changes, PHP and HTML template development and adding extra functionality through external extensions.
They will be responsible for our first line of support, liaising with clients and carrying out the fixes required or passing this on to our senior web developers.
They will be expected to, when required, attend meetings with clients or prospective clients and represent Volute in a friendly and professional manner and be able to listen to the clients’ needs and respond accordingly with possible solutions.
The job will provide training opportunities for personal development and a subscription service to a learning platform to learn new technical skills with scheduled time allocated to learn these skills.
Person Specification
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
Essential Skills
- Experience in developing websites using HTML, CSS and Javascript
- Experience of using Photoshop or similar
- Comfortable working on a Mac
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable Skills
- Experience in developing websites using a Content Management System
- Experience using jQuery
- Experience using Bootstrap
- Experience building templates and administrating websites in Joomla
- Experience administering MySQL Databases

Salary: £16,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
