Junior Video Producer

We are seeking a talented Junior Video Producer to join the Digital Experience team on a fixed-term contract until April 2024. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for producing engaging and informative content for Kew’s website and social media channels.

Every day is different at Kew, from filming interviews in the gardens with our expert horticulturists and scientists, to creating films that share the wonder of the world’s most unusual plants and fungi.

You will be an all-rounder, skilled in everything from researching and scripting to self-shooting and editing and have a passion and enthusiasm for creating great content. This is a fantastic opportunity to tell some of the amazing stories that Kew has to offer and inspire people to visit our gardens and learn more about our world-leading science and conservation work.

Candidates should have a degree in film/television studies or equivalent experience, with a proven background in a similar role. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail and a solid understanding of what makes a great story. You will be experienced in producing video content for a wide variety of platforms, particularly social media, and have a good knowledge of best practices for each format.

You will be technically sound, experienced in self-shooting with Canon cinema cameras and editing audio and video using the Adobe CC suite. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working independently to deliver content against a brief as well as working collaboratively within a larger team. Occasionally, you will also be required to manage external filmmakers for specialist productions such as drone shoots.

Organisation and data management is an important part of this role, and you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our video archive. You will also be supporting departments around the organisation, responding to requests for archive material and uploading content to YouTube and Vimeo.

The salary will be £28,249 - £32,891 per annum pro-rata, depending on skills and experience.

It is anticipated that interviews for this role will be held in the week commencing Monday 21st August 2023.
