Using your developing knowledge and skills of environmental sustainability, you will work with the sustainability team to deliver our Kind to Our Core Strategy and broader sustainability objectives within regular business responsibilities.

This position functions as part of a focused and flexible sustainability team, incorporating Social and Environmental sustainability targets, well integrated with impacts across the wider business. We want to drive impacts through our value chain to protect people and the planet.
The Role
Working the Sustainability Manager in contributing to targets, reporting and data management, all in line with our Kind to Our Core Sustainability Strategy. Alongside that, you’ll have a strong team around you, specifically, managing, supporting, and developing our Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, who will work with you to identify the environmental impacts of how we do business across our value chain, acting to measure, monitor and remediate
What will you be working on?
Support and coordinate progress of New Look’s Sustainability strategy and ambitions
Implementation of New Looks Environmental Sustainability agenda across different areas such as Raw Materials, Supply Chain, Circular Economy, and Climate Change
Engage with different internal and external stakeholders to implement the agenda and bring technical support to the different teams and suppliers
Manage data gathering required for reporting to different platforms and reports – New Look Annual report, Sustainability Report, Higg Index, CFMB etc.
Day to day management of Kind product checklist and certification
Receiving and reporting on supplier verification documentation
Ad hoc training and presenting to internal and external teams
Representing New Look at external meetings, Build relationships with key partners (SAC, BCI, Textile exchange etc.)
Management of Higg suite of tools, onboarding supply chain and ensuring SAC membership requirements are met
Responsible for the direct line management of the Sustainability Coordinator – Environment
Support registration and delisting for new suppliers and factories; biannually update lists
Support the Team in project management, data preparation, creating reports, presentations and briefings where required
What kind of person are we looking for?
Essential:
Knowledge about UK and EU environmental legislation
Passionate about sustainability and environmental management
Excellent analytical, problem solving, research and investigation skills
PC advanced skills including Microsoft Office, Data Base systems with advanced / proficiency skills in Excel
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to operate at all levels
Interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills with a logical and methodological approach to tasks
Ability to multi-task and thrives in demanding time pressured environment
Team Player who demonstrates integrity
Collaborative way of working, building relationships across teams and externally
Desirable:
Be able to work unsupervised on own initiative and step-up in the absence of manager
Presentation Skills
Knowledge and experience in carbon reporting
At least 3 years’ experience in retail industry or environmental consulting
Experience with databases
Knowledge Environmental management and compliance
Experience with Higg Index
Education or qualifications
A degree in Environmental Sciences, or environmental management, Environmental Technology, Biology, or similar technical degrees
