You will be the 1st contact point for the team so you should be an individual who likes to communicate and help people, you should be able to do this professionally and effectively. The IT role will predominantly be based around desktop support, so expect tasks such as computer rebuilds, password resets and general troubleshooting.A day in the lifeYou start your day, ready to support the business. first things first, you check the monitoring board to see if anything needs attention and escalate as appropriate. Right, it's on to the support inboxes; log all the tickets in ticket system and update tickets where appropriate. Once the overnight backlog has been raised start working through the support desk tickets, prioritising the urgent and important ones. OK, the first call of the day has come in, and a user is unable to connect to the VPN, you raise the ticket and start asking all the right questions to find out what happened. Everything is captured in the ticket so you can work on this once you finish the call and it will save time if you need to pass it off to someone else. You are now working through the raised support tickets, taking calls, and updating the inbox like a ninja octopus, obviously not forgetting to make the occasional round of drinks to keep the boss happy. You finish your day having given excellent support on issues such as password resets, Computer rebuilds, and general hand-holding on some new procedures.

  • Log tickets for support requests ensuring that all relevant information is captured, so you can ascertain what priority should be given to the ticket. Accuracy and attention to detail are key.
  • Logically and calmly work through support tickets to resolve or escalate.
  • Clearly and concisely speak with or write to third parties to find solutions.
  • Help in the purchasing and configuration of devices such as laptops and printers etc.
  • Create amazing "How To" articles which are easy to follow and enable customers to help themselves. You will maintain and improve these documents to ensure their awesomeness.
  • Call on your excellent detective and maths skills to get to the bottom of the support tickets. • Build and configure PCs ready for deployment. • Be a reliable member of the team, understanding that if you turn up late or don't get something done then it falls to someone else in the team to pick up the slack.
  • Make excellent tea, understanding that if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing properly.

  • You're able to effectively switch between tasks and understand the difference between importance and urgency.
