Role Purpose:

To assist with a variety of administrative and junior project management duties across the project landscape at Sequel to help achieve successful Sequel software delivery.

To also provide support to the Project Management Practice Lead, for Sequel Management team reporting and governance activities, across all the Sequel Product Line projects.

Main Responsibilities:

Project Execution

The following activities will be required to be run independently for small change projects or to support (with guidance) a more senior project manager (PMII or PMIII) on medium to large change projects.

  • Review project effort booked and deviations from expected forecasts.
  • Obtain revised forecasts from the project team each week.
  • Maintain correct project documentation and milestone stage-gate audit in accordance with the Sequel process.
  • To apply updates to project documentation (plans, RAID and other project logs etc.).
  • Initiate and manage through to successful completion the tasks following the Sequel PMO project execution processes (chair meetings, obtain client sign-off (e.g. specifications), obtain internal sign-off (e.g. release process), client user acceptance testing etc.).

Management, monitoring and optimisation of the project plan

  • Generate weekly reports (e.g. internal invoices & external invoices).
  • Support Project Management Practice Lead with Sequel Management team reporting requirements.
  • Update project register with latest project progress.
  • Create timesheet projects & tasks to support correct project tracking.
  • Chase timesheet entries from project team members.
  • Help communicate/train other Product Line team members on the use and correct entry of timesheets.
  • Liaise with the Product Line Delivery Manager to create/adjust appropriate team resource bookings to maintain project work.
  • Participate in team meetings, tracking actions and their output target dates for completion.
  • Support the project manager where required to manage project issues and risks.
  • Build good working relationships with team members.

Reporting and client engagement

  • Provide delegated responsibilities from the project manager where required.
  • Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.

Qualifications


Essential

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work on assigned tasks with little supervision.
  • An awareness of project delivery methodologies (PMP, Agile).

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a software development environment.
  • Insurance domain knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
