Job title: Junior Project Manager
Location: Slough / Hybrid
Contract length: 9 Months initially (mat cover)
Hourly Rate: Up to £285 per day
Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently seeking a Junior Project Manager on behalf of a leading telecommunications company based in Slough. They are in need of support in their network portfolio due to a member of the team going on maternity cover.
As the Junior Project Manager you assist the portfolio and programme managers to successfully deliver their projects and programmes and the expected and planned business benefits. You will be instrumental in supporting the administrative tasks which deliver these objectives such as arranging and taking notes at meetings, chasing updates and action, creating and distributing reports and collating information for planning and analysis tasks.
Technical experience is not essential, but you will need to be a quick learner and enjoy working in a fast paced environment where things change all the time!
The Role
Tracking and reporting actions from plans and meetings.
Risk and issue update chasing and reporting. Updating RAIDs (Risk, Action, Issue and Dependency documents).
Document management including tracking versions, changes and storage on our systems.
Financial tracking, reporting, assisting with raising purchase requests and receipting. Helping to produce monthly forecasts and tracking differences from the plan. Assisting with the 3 year planning process to pull together longer range financial plans.
Proofing documents and reports and suggesting improvements.
Dependency tracking (projects and activities that need to happen so that the programme or portfolio can succeed).
Ensuring that all Governance and Assurance processes are being followed and identify gaps or areas that need to be fixed.
General administration duties completed in an organised and methodical way.
Escalate any issues or anomalies to the programme or portfolio manager when they are spotted.
Key Skills and experience:
Strong administrative skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to get your messages across.
Be mindful of confidentiality and when information can be shared or limited to a controlled distribution.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders (interested parties) and suppliers.
Be a team player who works well with others and collaborates on projects.
Organised and methodical in managing activities.
Attention to detail when communicating and minimising errors in documents.
Transparency when communication or producing documents.
Task prioritisation and the ability to complete multiple tasks within agreed timescales.
Strong Office 365 computer skills.
Ability to create new documents and interesting and creative presentation materials.
Have a problem solving mindset.
Be a motivated self-starter who doesn’t need constant supervision.
Call out when things don’t look or feel correct.
