Junior Project Manager (Events & Bars)
Salary : £33,000 - £35,000 per annum, DOE + discretionary bonus
Hours : 40 hours a week, typically Monday – Friday.
Evenings & weekends will be required during peak seasons and dependent on the business need
Location : London when office based / UK travel required for Event delivery
Start date : Flexible - end of April / early May
Field Vision Bars are a Festival and Venue Bar Operator, delivering the likes of Bluedot, Boomtown, Kendal Calling & The Long Road Festivals alongside established venues such as Printworks, Dockyards and The Beams London. Our recent partnership with Central Fusion has expanded our operation into bigger and more exciting opportunities to work with Promoters and Organisers such as Live Nation, AEG and DFC.
We are looking for a Junior Operations Manager to play a pivotal role within the Festival and Events Bar team. The role will vary, from supporting the build and delivery of large scale bar management projects on our festivals and pop-up sites, to managing small scale and often niche event projects from start to finish. No matter what the size of the show the end goal of the role is to ensure the smooth running of operations for build, live show days and de-rig. You will primarily be based at our London office, travelling around the UK during the peak summer festival season.
We are looking for someone with experience preferably within the festival bar sector, however broader event / event bar experience would also be helpful. Your responsibilities will span across planning, build, delivery and de-rig phases and you will work alongside various external clients, suppliers and local authorities, as well as our internal teams to deliver seamless events every time.
Pre-event, you will be assisting the Project Manager and Operations Director to plan and operate the future events, order all relevant stock and equipment, and liaise with clients directly to fulfil their needs. You’ll oversee the build of the bars based on the bar specs and ensure bar build checklists are completed in good time, act as a FOH Event Manager to ensure customer service levels are maintained throughout & ensure all policies and licensing objective are upheld. On site, you’ll directly manage teams of up to 15 managers and crew during build and derig, with up to 400 bar staff on site to oversee during live show days. Post show, you will manage the derig and closing paperwork, as well as the safe return all vehicles, tools, stock and bar kit etc to Head Office or key suppliers.
You’ll be someone who genuinely cares about their working environment and wants to take responsibility for the finer details and is passionate about end-to-end event planning and delivery. You’ll be confident, assertive and calm, remaining rational and in control, maintaining due care and attention under pressure.

What you’ll definitely need:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a large-scale event environment (preferably festivals)
- A full, clean driving licence
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Able to confidently delegate whilst maintaining an all-round overview of the team
- Ability to communicate relevant information to all departments and stakeholders involved in the event
- Working and staying calm under pressure
- A keen eye for detail
- Willing to live and work onsite at festivals and events both during and outside of regular working hours (while we always try to secure hotel accommodation, some festival sites do require camping)

Main Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Pre Show / Office Time
- Assist the wider Festival & Events team to plan, operate and Reconcile events
- Client liaising to plan events
- Building staffing rotas, equipment lists, schedules and operating plans
- Working alongside the staffing, operations and stock teams to ensure everything is ready to go
Build Duties
- Responsible for set-up of the Event, managing build / set up crew, schedules and equipment, adhering to budgets and reducing costs where possible
- Attend on-site meetings prior to the event to review event plans, build schedules & pick lists – amend and adjust where required
- Organise and coordinate vehicles, plant & tools and guarantee safe keeping of tools and equipment pre during & post event (in conjunction with the event office manager if applicable)
- Ensure correct and safe use of equipment including vehicles, plant and tools
- General admin – including the recording of crew hours, sign out sheets etc
- Accident & incident reporting, ensuring all policies are adhered to inc driving, vehicles, expenses, staff conduct
Live Show Days
- Liaising with event site team and suppliers
- Hold daily briefings with relative departments
- Responsible for set-up / close down (dependant on the shift), maintenance and overall security of onsite operations – including infrastructure, kit, staff welfare and licensing
- Co-coordinating deliveries from/to exterior contractors/suppliers and ensuring it is recorded correctly – e.g. ice/soft drinks to a food vendors
- Be a point of contact for bar managers – working with them to ensure maximum efficiency of the bar operations
- Ensure the licensing objectives and laws are being adhered too across the entire site
- Liaise with finance and stock teams ensuring procedures and timelines and upheld to ensure effective operations
- Ensure site is safe and secure at the end of each night
- Working with and adhering to Field Vision Policies including H&S Policy
- Operating the site wide bar operations for venues and events.
De-Rig & Post Show Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with the Project Manager/ Operations Director on any expected delays to the Production schedule and the revised timeline. E.g. – Weather, delays
- Regularly communicating with the site managers to ensure they are happy with how Field Vision are progressing & leaving areas of site
