Junior Project Manager
We’re looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our Project Delivery team at EDF based primarily at our Gloucester Office with regular travel around the EDF fleet.
Junior Project Managers are accountable to the Project Portfolio Manager for successfully being able to plan, track and report on the performance of multiple ongoing projects. Specific responsibility to support project managers with the completion of project objectives leading to successful delivery of all aspects of their assigned project(s) including overall safety, quality, schedule and cost performance.

Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069 - £71,779 dependent on experience and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position, however we will be happy to discuss options regarding part time flexibility and job share if you would like to highlight this on your application.

What you’ll be doing
Your primary role as a Junior Project Manager will include:
Identifying, implementing and complying with applicable company safety, environmental, and quality, procedures and policy, and relevant legislative and regulatory, requirements.- Establishing the baseline Scope, Quality, Schedule and Cost for their project and ensuring that the Budget is managed and other company reporting tools accurately reflect the project(s) position.
- Working with Architect Engineers as key member of any Project Team to deliver fit for purpose solutions in a safe manner to meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
- Securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
- Developing and conducting effective execution strategies and plans to meet the overall project objectives.
- Ensuring that effective project change control is implemented when significant changes to project scope, schedule or cost are identified.
- Maximizing their team's OpEx, disseminating and input of OpEx across all project stages into the lessons learnt database.
- Carrying out effective Stakeholders communication regarding project performance, issues/¬concerns, and risks through the required reporting mechanisms.
- Leading and coaching their project team (including temporary workers) to maximise efficient and effective delivery, in a safe and timely manner, of fit for purpose solutions which meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
- Ensuring the relevant project risks and issues are identified and managed/mitigated as appropriate. This includes regular monitoring of the residual risks.
- Jointly developing procurement strategies for their Project with the Supply Chain and Engineering and, where appropriate, other key stakeholders.
- Execute the Contract Manager role, as defined in AGS, for their assigned contracts.
- Ensure compliance of the project and project team with all project delivery procedures and where necessary educating their teams as to the requirements.
- Ensure early involvement of the construction team to ensure “constructability” of the design and in conjunction with Construction Manager, Supply Chain lead and wider project team, develop construction contracts/field execution strategies.
Who you are
As a Junior Project Manager at EDF, you will degree educated, ideally in engineering or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline, be a chartered engineer or equivalent professional qualification, ideally APM or RPP. You will have demonstrable experience and use of M365 packages such as Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and industry planning tools and be proficient in the use of Earned Value tools, estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools.
You’ll be familiar with HSE and CDM legislation, have experience of working on projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments and working within an integrated project team including staff, agency and assigned functional support.
You’ll have evidence of working within environments with a high quality and safety standards/culture and be able to demonstrate success in managing and developing engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery, large multi-discipline projects and complex multidiscipline contracts and the tender review process, control of costs and Change, Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations, front end design and development of solutions and the design / construction interface to ensure a smooth transition / handover and how to address the issues which occur at this interface and the construction / commissioning interface to ensure a smooth transition / handover and how to address the issues which occur at this interface.
You will be used to working/leading on large value projects with efficient programmes, ideally with experience of working in both Station and Office environments and an understanding of how work is executed on site and how the work week management process is operated.
