Sapere Books is a digital-first publisher of genre-strong fiction and popular history. We are looking for an Editorial Assistant to join our small, remote-working team to work exclusively on military fiction and non-fiction titles.
Your main job will be to work on backlist titles. Backlist books are books which were published in paperback format originally, but which went out of print and are now being reissued by us in digital and print-on-demand paperback format.
We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail to read through the converted files and pick up on any errors which may have been published in the original edition or which have been created in the conversion process from scanning the original paperbacks. We are also looking for someone with a keen interest in military history, who can fact-check military terms in our front-list military fiction titles for accuracy.
We will also train the successful candidate on formatting our files for ebook publication and writing new blurbs and product descriptions for the books, as well as assisting with cover image research.
This is a full-time position, but the position will be exclusively working from home, so we welcome applications from all over the UK.
