Introduction
Our client is a leading Project Management and Procurement Consultancy and they are passionate about the Defence sector!
They are looking for Project Managers to work across a number of projects and programmes with the MOD, including Infrastructure, technology, digital and real estate/construction.
They are happy to consider candidates who have just finished a graduate scheme (within the Defence industry).
You will have a local base location and be in the office / on customer sites 2 – 3 days per week, the rest of the work can be done remotely. Offices include: Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Plymouth, Cardiff, Sheffield, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Derby, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Darlington
Key responsibilities
- Proactively provide trusted advice to our clients around how to deliver solutions
- Full or part lifecycle delivery management
- Providing independent assurance of projects or programmes, applying robust thinking to show how well or otherwise they are performing from a delivery perspective
- Recovery of poorly performing implementations
- Provide expert project and programme delivery advice where needed into complimentary services, such as procurement management
- Ability to work alone or in high performance teams
- Build client relationships and reinforce credibility as a subject matter expert
- Demonstrate knowledge of industry standard methodologies
- Support or lead business generation activity (bid qualifications and proposals)
Skills & experience
- Experience leading or supporting projects within the Defence industry (ideally within a client facing role)
- 2 + years within a project role
- Stakeholder relationship management
- Set up agile culture and capabilities, Support and guide agile practices, Adopt agile practices
- APM, Prince2, AgilePM or Scrum qualification would be ideal
