Job description
We are recruiting experienced economists to join our Communications practice. Frontier’s Communications practice advises regulators and companies globally across some of the most topical and high-profile policy, regulatory, competition and strategic issues of the day – in telecoms, media and increasingly digital. In doing so, we help our clients navigate change driven by underlying advances in technology, market structure and consumer behaviour.
We are looking for talented team players, with specialised skills and valuable expertise, who have a desire to advance their career path. As an experienced hire your responsibilities would include:
Accurately delivering work using a range of techniques.- Engaging professionally with clients; actively listening and understanding their perspective and needs, and presenting the results of your work (where appropriate).
- Identifying the relevant economic framework and how, it will address the case in hand.
- Applying relevant economic theory and empirical techniques across a range of projects.
- Delivering high quality technical work by applying best practice.
- Identifying key results from analysis (that will prove or disprove key hypotheses).
- Adapting written work to the target audience in terms of style and level of information.
- Managing more junior colleagues in preparing well structured, clear, client deliverables.
Although this role will predominantly focus on projects related to telecoms, we strongly encourage all of our Economists to work across Frontier’s different practice areas – that is, to be ‘fungible’. Fungibility benefits both individuals and the firm as a whole, and we believe it is core to maintaining our values and our culture.
In addition to stimulating and thought-provoking project work, we offer numerous benefits to support you inside and outside of work. All employees have access to numerous Learning & Development opportunities including ongoing Career Development Reviews with the support of an allocated Mentor.
We understand the importance of work/life balance and offer flexible working arrangements. Our hybrid working model means we expect most people to combine coming into the office with working remotely, either from home or elsewhere. We are encouraging a 60:40 split either way, with a full-time colleague typically being in the office 2-3 days a week. How you split your time will depend on the meetings in your diary, projects you may be working on etc - we want you to be able to embrace the flexibility while thinking about what works best for The Company, Your clients and You. In addition we provide 28 days annual leave with the option to purchase an additional 10.
Frontier is entirely owned by its employees. As Shareholders, we encourage everyone to put forward their views. Not only do we influence how the company is run but we choose to distribute as much of our profits as is prudently possible through bonuses. In addition we offer a highly rewarding salary.
We expect the successful candidate to have had a number of years of experience applying a range of economic tools and analysis to policy and business issues – in a consulting, regulatory or business environment. Therefore you should have at least a degree with a main focus in economics or another highly analytical/quantitative discipline. You will also be able to communicate complex economic arguments in non-technical language, and to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
Should you have any questions or would like any additional information please email [email protected]. We are looking forward to receiving your application.
