About the role

The Junior Product Manager for our Portal B2B solution is a new role supporting our growing ambition to augment the capabilities of our digital solution for our BPaaS customers in-life as well as new customer onboarding projects.

Zellis Portal is a growing B2B platform where our Managed Service customers interact with Zellis service teams to manage tasks, automate processes and provide a unified experience for our customers and colleagues. We also have ambitious plans for Zellis Portal to broaden the scope for those customers who are migrating to Zellis products and services, making data migration, project tracking and system configuration an easy and rapid digital experience. The Product Manager will help drive the future strategy to realise the vision of a single B2B platform throughout the customer lifecycle.

Product management is often described as the intersection of customer needs, technology and business. In this role for your product area you'll:
  • Deliver on our commitments underpinned by our product strategy, including product discovery and analysis and delivering the long-term roadmap for the product.
  • Support the Senior Product Manager and product engineering scrum teams for each release.
  • Work with customers and users to gain feedback to further evolve the Portal product.
  • Work very closely with engineering team to drive agile real time evaluation of feature development.
This role has both internal and external customer stakeholders. While Zellis Portal is designed to meet the needs of our customers, the equivalent colleague portal (MyZone) is a line of business application delivering efficiencies and automation to our internal customer stakeholders and is critical to delivery of efficient, accurate payrolls for managed services customer and will also be driving future benefits for onboarding new customers.

We believe that great software should have the same effect on the user as magic – it makes them ask the question, “how did they do that?”. Our bar for the software we build is not just to be good but to create truly magical experiences, whilst also delivering precision and choice for our customers.

As a Product Manager you'll be very familiar with the functional needs of Zellis’ customers and Zellis’ strategy in meeting those and can translate this into new product and feature solutions. Your business mindset helps you prioritise new solutions in the development backlog, with the products or set of features in a product achieving high customer NPS, appropriately high usage and low support tickets, leading to low customer churn and strong onboarding.

Skills and experience

  • A strong, organised individual who can support the Product Owner and be part of a wider cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure documentation and development tools (Azure DevOps) are updated.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • A self-starter and highly motivated, you take end-to-end responsibility for the completion of required work.
  • A passion for solving business and customer needs with a passion for automation technology.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within Zellis and the customer community.
  • Persistent in bringing strong evidence, with clear communication and influence to mobilise Zellis to deliver great solutions to customer needs.
  • Bring a growth mindset to the team, challenging team members to move to best practice and being open to learning from others.
  • Smart and restlessly curious to learn new products, technology and business processes.
  • Desire to challenge the status quo and drive business advancement.
Desirable additional experience:
  • Previous experience within Payroll/HR solutions.
  • Understanding of large-scale data migration exercises.
  • Previous experience of digitising processes and leveraging automation in products.
  • Awareness of Azure technology infrastructure and general development cycle best-practice.

About Us

Zellis is the leading provider of payroll and HR solutions for the UK & Ireland. Together with Benefex and Moorepay we form the Zellis Group, serving a vast array of companies across every vertical and industry. Our purpose is to make people feel appreciated for the work they do – through precision, choice, and magic.

We have over 50 years of heritage and industry experience – and we’ve been ahead of the curve throughout. More than half a century ago, we were founded as Peterborough Data Processing. Quite a lot has changed since then – not least our name. We were acquired by Northgate, becoming NorthgateArinso in 2007 and NGA Human Resources UK and Ireland in 2014, where we were joined by Moorepay. In 2018, the UK and Ireland division was sold to Bain Capital and now we operate as a standalone company, Zellis. After acquiring Benefex, we’re now even better equipped to serve the complex needs of our customers.

Our vision is to be the clear leader in pay, reward, analytics, and people experiences. We’re proud of our culture and we work hard to create an environment where people want to join, belong to, and be part of a progressive organisation. Our values, which were defined with input from all of our 2,000 colleagues, are not empty words on a poster:
  • Unstoppable together.
  • Always learning.
  • Make it count.
