We design, build, and manage our own 3000km FTTP (Fibre to the Property) network in-house and are one of the leading suppliers making use of several Government funded voucher programmes. We are excited to be extending our network and bringing full fibre broadband to over 10,000 homes and business in the New Forest with connection aimed for February 2024.

The Role
Working within the Design Team you will be a key player in the development and growth of our fibre network through the design of various FTTP projects, ranging from small remote hamlets to small urban villages. You’ll work closely with our planning, build and engineering teams to deliver full fibre project designs using Point to Point technology and assist in the creation of all the necessary pre-construction information required for handover. You will also aid the network designers in the acceptance of As-built information post-construction and the accurate up-keep of our current network maps.

Responsibilities
- Producing small, high quality fibre designs from Cabinet to Customer Access Point (CAP) using routes determined by the Network Planning team. Designs must be within the project budget and detail the required cable sizes, node locations and types, installation methods, and labelling according to our design principles
- Drawing clear and accurate Single Line Diagrams (SLD’s) for all fibre designs
- Producing and maintaining accurate splice matrixes for all of your designs
- Sending off completed designs to our build management platform and validating the blueprints before the construction tasks are released to the build teams
- Responding to design change requests during build and updating the relevant information in your designs
- Updating the relevant network maps and CAP statuses of all the project UPRNs using As-built information from the field
- Providing Service Delivery with patch information for customer installations and aiding install engineers with any splicing issues when out in the field
- Working with the sales team to provide fibre quotes for custom build orders
Requirements
- At least 1 year(s) of GIS experience at degree level or equivalent
- A degree in Geology, Geography or similar
- High attention to detail
- Good spatial knowledge
- Great communication
- Takes a proactive approach to problem solving in a team environment
- Honesty and reliability
- The ability to work on your own initiative with strong self-organisational skills
- A strong willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving processes

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum, DOE
Role Type: Full Time/Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Office based near Blandford Forum, Dorset with occasional hybrid working if required
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
