A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
Our merchandising team know what our customers want and do their utmost to give it to them.
Working closely with our suppliers, warehouses and buying departments they ensure we order the right number of items, within budget and in time to make our delivery deadlines. They also have the honour of deciding which products make it into our famous end of season sales.
As a Junior Merchandise Planner at Boden you will be responsible for supporting the Product Team to maximise the sales and profits for your area through thoughtful analysis, planning, forecasting, stock management and in season trading. You will act as a mentor to junior members on the team, providing coaching to elevate the skill set of the Merchandise planning function.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Be responsible for the planning and trading of a category or department alongside your Product Merchandiser- Demonstrate an understanding of weekly trade KPI’s and be able to use these to drive actions
- Own your department WSSI, forecasting demand and intake, and signing off monthly with Senior Management.
- Monitor stocks and covers of online and in warehouse stocks to ensure targets are achieved, and that opportunities are maximised and risks managed.
- Provide topline trade analysis and summary of actions taken to Senior Management on we weekly basis, sharing both opportunities and risks.
- Conduct detailed ad-hoc and pro-active analytical analysis relating to all KPI’s
- Have ownership of markdowns for your area, and propose and execute in line with guidelines, providing analysis and a summary of proposals for sign off with your Merch Manager
- Oversee the coaching and development of an MAA, acting as a mentor for junior team members.
- Oversee MAA on intake and delivery management
- Partner with product Merchandisers on providing monthly hindsighting to influence forward strategy
- Build cross-functional relationships across Design, Product Merch, Product Development & Garment Tech
- Other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested
THE EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience working at a JM level, or as an established AM/ SAM who is ready for the next step- Experience managing and developing an MAA
- Experience planning, trading and reacting in-season
- Ideally experienced in using a WSSI
