The Insurer TV is the (re)insurance industry’s go-to multimedia platform – brought to you by the publishers of The Insurer – that brings our 27,000+ viewership exclusive insight and intelligence on the global P&C (re)insurance markets through video interviews, studio panel discussions and mini docuseries, featuring some of the industry’s most respected figures from around the world.
We are looking for a creative, inquisitive and enthusiastic media researcher and production assistant to join our London-based hub and become an invaluable member of our growing team, focussing specifically on our video content.
At The Insurer TV,we work on a mix of commissioned pieces from clients across the P&C (re)insurance industries, as well as on breaking news pieces with quick-turnarounds. The work can be fast-paced, but is also rewarding.
Not only will you meet a large variety of people which will necessitate good interpersonal skills, you will also learn how to carry out much of the essential groundwork for what is eventually published which will be crucial for anybody looking for a career in TV production.
You will be joining a close-knit team of creative and dynamic people (both in London and the US), working primarily under Sophie Roberts, Head of The Insurer TV, as well as working alongside our external production company, and our internal marketing and editorial teams.
We are looking for a recent graduate from a relevant field with up to one year’s experience in media editing and production, with excellent project management skills and who is good at working as part of a team.
You will be required to manage your time and duties efficiently and be able to work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
Core responsibilities:
- Researching a topic using a variety of sources
- Providing accurate briefings to the head of The Insurer TV
- Drafting scripts and preparing interview questions
- Booking interviewees, and finding guests, liaising with filming location and venues
- Checking subtitles and sourcing b-roll footage and images to be used in videos and identifying opportunities for graphics or graphs or data analysis within interviews or articles.
- Researching and writing material for the website, social media and marketing materials
- Carrying out general administrative tasks
Hard Skills:
- Experience with Canva and Vimeo would be advantageous but not required
- Experience with Slack and other team collaboration tools
Soft Skills:
- Comfortable working to both hard and moveable deadlines, on several projects at once
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Ability to critically appraise projects in developing stages
- Innovative and creative
- Passion for good content, energy, enthusiasm, ability to collaborate and resourcefulness
- Interest in business in journalism
Other:
- Role appropriate for recent graduates with one year’s experience
- Happy to travel internationally - (US, Bermuda, Asia)
- Working hours are 9 - 5:30pm, flexible working available if needed and WFH on Fridays.
- Offices based in Bishopsgate, City of London.
